Why Is The PSAT Important?

One reason as to why the PSAT is impotant is because it makes you eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program.Also, it gives you some background on the actual SAT. The PSAT not only gives you a Merit Scholarship but also several others achievement scholarships for minorities such as the National Achievement Scholarship, the National Hispanic Recognition Program, etc.

How is the PSAT similar to the SAT?

Both the PSAT and the SAT have an evidence based reading and writing portion. Also as of right now, both tests have an optional writing component and have math sections. Both tests have a multiple choice scantron part of the test.
